The player needs to deal 21 Cards in order to start Pyramid solitaire. The Cards are then arranged into 6 rows with an orientation resembling that of a pyramid shape which starts with a single card on top. These are dealt row by row until all of the remaining 27 Cards are left in the deck for use later.
